Higgins The Hero

Matthew Pike, the author of Higgins The Hero, wrote this heart-warming children's book to help raise funds to support the work of the RNLI. It also highlights the dangers of coastal rip tides to swimmers and explains how to cope if you get caught in one.

We assisted Matthew in editing the book and sourcing a suitable illustrator, the talented Diana Catchpole, to bring the story of Higgins to life. We handled the graphic design and used Photoshop to perfect the artwork for print. Additionally, we managed the budgeting, secured the self-publishing rights, and coordinated with the printers to complete and dispatch the finished copies. As this is a charity project we didn't charge a fee.

Each copy of Higgins The Hero costs £10 to buy and every single penny is being donated to the RNLI.

We hope to work with Matthew in the run-up to Christmas to promote the book to private individuals, retail outlets and through the press to increase sales.

Matthew says... "While on holiday in Cornwall, seeing the amazing job the RNLI does for all made me want to try and give something back. Writing a children’s story about our beloved dog Higgins was the easy part and then I met Silks. They made my story become real and with such ease. Katie and Sarah explained the process, updated me on all the decisions I would need to make, and made the whole journey so enjoyable. With their guidance, the final product was even better than I imagined. Thank you Katie and Sarah for all your support for this fantastic charity."
